Frequently Asked Questions

Men talking in Plaza at Pastors' Conference

How should I dress for the conference?
Dress at the conference is casual. Our conference and speaking staff set the precedent by wearing casual conference apparel. Feel free to dress comfortably throughout the week.

Will I need to buy any meals while I’m there?
If you registered for the conference with the Meals or Housing and Meals options, your first meal will be dinner on Monday, and your last meal will be dinner on Thursday. Breakfast will be available for purchase on Friday morning. If you did not pay for your meals through a registration option, you may purchase meals on an individual basis at the Student Dining Room entrance (lower level of the Alumni Student Center Building). There are also many eating establishments within walking distance of Moody Bible Institute. Dining Guides are available at the Smith Hall Information Desk.

What do I do when I first arrive?
If you drive, you may park in our parking garage located on the corner of Wells St. and Institute Pl. You may park here all week at no charge. Follow the signs from the garage across the street and enter the Alumni Student Center under the clocktower. There you will be able to check in and get your conference materials. If the garage is full, parking assistants should direct you to the available street-level parking areas.

I’m staying on campus, do I need to bring my own linens?
No. Sheets, towels, a blanket and a pillow will all be provided for you. However, if you have special preferences when it comes to these items, please feel free to bring your own with you.

My wife will be coming with me, can she take part in the sessions with me?
As this event is designed for men in the pastorate, registration for the conference, housing or meals is available only to men. However, we have several attendees who bring their spouses with them to the conference. In this case, alternate housing is required. You may view a list of nearby accommodations on our site. Pastors' wives are invited to attend any of the general sessions in Torrey-Gray Auditorium without charge or registration. They can also purchase individual meals at the door of our dining room. However, we ask wives not to attend the individual breakout sessions.

Do I need to sign up for breakout sessions in advance?
No. You do not need to reserve your space in the breakout sessions. Sessions are filled on a first come, first served basis.

When do I need to check in/out by?
Check in begins Monday at 11 a.m and continues throughout the week. If your flight is delayed or you are unable to make it to the main registration desk, your badge and keys will be at the Crowell desk Monday evening into Tuesday morning. We ask pastors to be checked out of dorm rooms by 10 a.m. on Friday morning after the conference.

I do not live in the United States, may I still attend the conference?
Yes. International registrants must make their own arrangements for tourist visas and travel to the Moody Campus. Moody does NOT provide invitation letters as they are not accepted by the U.S. Embassy. Please visit The Bureau of Consular Affairs for more information.
