Kerwin A. Rodriguez
Kerwin A. Rodriguez
Kerwin A. Rodriguez was born in New York City to Dominican immigrants and is passionate about preaching and teaching others to preach. For nearly 15 years, he has taught preaching, spiritual formation, and leadership in academic and non-academic settings. He is a PhD candidate in Preaching at Baylor University’s Truett Seminary, focusing on the Latino/a homiletical tradition. He serves as chair and assistant professor of pastoral theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and previously served as assistant professor of Preaching and Church Ministries at Moody Bible Institute. He and his wife, Meredith, live in Chicago’s Humboldt Park with their three sons.

Dr. Bryan Chapell
Dr. Bryan Chapell is pastor emeritus of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria, Illinois, and president emeritus of Covenant Theological Seminary. He now serves as president of Unlimited Grace Media, which broadcasts gospel-centered messages across major US cities and provides preaching and teaching resources worldwide. A widely respected author, his books include Each for the Other, Holiness by Grace, Praying Backwards, The Multigenerational Church Crisis, and Christ-centered Preaching, a standard preaching textbook used globally in multiple languages and editions. Dr. Chapell and his wife, Kathy, have four adult children and a growing number of grandchildren.

Reverend Dr. Tyshawn Gardner
Reverend Dr. Tyshawn Gardner
Reverend Dr. Tyshawn Gardner serves as associate professor of preaching, the David E. Garland endowed chair in preaching, and assistant director of the Kyle Lake Center for Effective Preaching at Baylor University’s Truett Seminary. Previously, he taught at Samford University and pastored Plum Grove Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa for 19 years. A US Navy veteran, he holds degrees from Stillman College, Beeson Divinity School, and a PhD in Christian preaching from Southern Seminary, where he researched prophetic and African American preaching traditions. Dr. Gardner is the author of two books and is married to Shonetay, with four children and four grandchildren.

Patricia Batten
Patricia Batten
Patricia Batten earned her MDiv from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and pastored a church in Kennebunkport, Maine, developing her preaching through weekly exposition of Scripture. After completing a DMin in preaching, she began teaching as a ranked adjunct assistant professor of preaching at Gordon-Conwell while maintaining an active preaching ministry. She is completing her PhD at the University of Aberdeen, researching evangelical preaching and intellectual disability. She and her husband, Rich, live north of Boston with their four children, including their daughter Audrey, who has Down syndrome and has shaped her passion for helping preachers prepare sermons with people with disabilities in mind.

Ryan Cook
Dr. Ryan Cook is dean of faculty and professor of Old Testament and Hebrew at Moody Theological Seminary. He earned his PhD from Asbury Theological Seminary and is the author of Talking with God: Daily Readings Through the Psalms and Rhetoric of Praise, along with numerous academic articles. He has contributed to the Moody Handbook of Messianic Prophecy and One Volume Seminary and writes devotionals for Today in the Word. He lives in Northwest Indiana with his wife, Ashley, and their three children.

Sarah Han
Dr. Sarah Han is assistant professor of pastoral ministry (homiletics) at Tyndale Seminary and director of the Centre for Pastoral Imagination. An ordained minister and church planter, she has served in Canadian ethnic church contexts for more than two decades. A Korean-Chinese-Canadian third-culture pastor’s kid, she is passionate about reimagining church for the next generation and pursuing the missio Dei in everyday life. She partners with local churches to cultivate pastors who lead with renewed imagination across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond.

Dr. Dominick S. Hernández
Dr. Dominick S. Hernández
Dr. Dominick S. Hernández is associate professor of Old Testament and Semitic languages at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University, where he also directs Talbot en Español. He earned his PhD in Hebrew Bible from Bar-Ilan University in Israel. An ordained pastor, he has served in English-, Spanish-, and Hebrew-language ministries across the globe. He is the author of several books and biblical commentaries, including The Prosperity of the Wicked and Proverbs: Pathways to Wisdom.

Shenay Shumake
Shenay Shumake
Shenay Shumake is a pastor, certified professional coach, and speaker with Compassion International, bringing nearly 30 years of preaching experience and over 15 years in coaching. Her work centers on soul care and restorative practices that help leaders cultivate resilient, gospel-formed lives. She holds an MA in spiritual formation and discipleship and founded Grow Workshops. She is the author of The Glassmaker and is completing her second book. She co-pastors Life Changer’s International Ministries in Detroit with her husband and is a mother of four and grandmother to two.
