Encountering the Wounded Healer in the Gospel of John

Conference attendees raising their hands in worship at a conference presented by the Center for Compelling Biblical Preaching at Moody Theological Seminary

The Gospel of John captures the scene of the resurrected Jesus standing before his twelve disciples for the first time. To those that seemed hesitant to accept that it was the risen Christ, He says, “touch my side,” providing comfort and allaying their unbelief.

The Compelled conference invites pastors, ministry leaders, and aspiring preachers to explore how Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross has the power to heal his people both emotionally and spiritually. The restorative ability of the embodied Jesus’ wounds offers salvation and eternal life to all who believe.

Through Scripture-grounded sessions and practical workshops, you’ll gain tools for preaching from the Gospel of John and communicating its theology of hope to those suffering, hurting, and in a season of doubt.
